Gabe Carranza cancer fighting fund

Donation protected
Gabe is the son of Salvador and Andrea  Carranza. Gabe, was diagnosed with b-cell ALL. ...Acute lymphoblastic leukemia on Dec 22, 2015. Turn a seed of hope into a bounty of blessing for one special boy, Gabe Carranza!  We can help him win that battle when we each #Give10ForGabe

Gabe is now a 9-year-old boy who loves being a kid when he can.  He has a passion for husky dogs, riding his bike, playing guitar, and country music.  He loves spending time with his family outdoors and learning about nature.  Gabe said that he doesn't know what he wants to be when he grows up because his current dream is that he will just get to grow up! Gabe's mom and dad are Andrea and Salvador.  His younger brother is Fabian (8), and his younger sister is Isabella (3).

When Gabe isn't getting chemotherapy, he is fighting all these cancer treatment-related ailments:

Post-cancer maintenance care
- Condition duration: several months
- treatment: regular chemotherapy

Adrenal Insufficiency, with his body unable to produce the cortisol needed to deal with the stress (physical, mental, emotional) of treatment.
- Condition duration: possibly lifetime
- treatment: daily steroids

Type 1 diabetes: brought on by the daily steroids.
- Condition duration: unknown
- treatment: insulin, costing $2,000 a month, clean-eating diet
Hypoglycemia due to chemotherapy.
- Condition duration: unknown
- treatment: daily medication, clean-eating diet

Severe renal scarring on left kidney, functionality less than 23%.
- Condition duration: permanent
- treatment: surgery for removal after cancer treatment is finished and he is strong again

High blood pressure and weight gain brought on by steroids
- Condition duration: see adrenal issue above
- treatment: medication for blood pressure and clean-eating diet

Neuropathy
- Condition duration: unknown
- treatment: getting off chemotherapy, possible physical therapy.

Asthma, previous condition but makes better medications impossible to take due to the need for an inhaler.
- Condition duration: likely permanent

On top of ALL of this, Gabe has to go to the ER regularly whenever he has a fever, feels particularly lethargic, or is otherwise sick.

The cancer and mounting medical issues that continue to plague Gabe have taken a big toll on the Carranza family's finances.

- Hospital bills for the Carranza family are reaching up toward $1 million
- Heating their home costs $2,000 every year
- Groceries, even shopping at discount stores, adds up, especially with Gabe's need for clean, quality foods.
- Gas costs $120 weekly with all the trips Andrea has to take to and from the hospital and to and from school.
- Dental bills
- Utility bills

In 3 years, the GoFundMe page that Andrea's friend set up for her has raised almost $8,000 of the $10,000 goal that was established. We need to raise this to really be able to help them!! Some of these pages go viral and exceed their goals, and I think this should finally happen for this young man.

Can we all take a minute to #Give10ForGabe? Give $10 or more, share this with your friends and family, and ask others to do the same.  When we each give $10 or more, we each take a little bit of the burden off Gabe and his family's shoulders.

To all our friends and family and anyone on the internet who wants to make a difference, #Give10ForGabe
