When life knocks you down...

I'm normally not one to share such personal experiences, let alone ever want to ask for any help. This month has proved to be an exception to both of those things. When everything goes right, moving across the country is stressful in and of itself, let alone when you get robbed after only being in your new home for a month. We moved to Colorado because I got offered a job with U.S.G.S working in science. My wonderful boyfriend Norman agreed to leave home and move with me. He has been nothing but fully supportive of my career dreams. (As those of you in science know it can be a long and grueling path). Last Wednesday someone stole his truck with all of his belongings in it right outside of our apartment within the hour he got home from work. Norman is the hardest working person that I know. Before this happened he offered to work on weekends and pick up side jobs just so I could catch up a little bit financially. The robber took his wallet, drained both of his bank accounts and stole about $1,000 worth of power tools that he needs to be able to work day to day. I've watched my best friend get robbed of not only his belongings but of his livelihood. After the holidays I will be trying to get a second job on weekends just to hopefully catch up. As most of you know from facebook the story of us finding his truck just blocks from where we live. His truck is in the shop and we just got word that they have done $3,000 worth of damage to his vehicle including when they crashed it into the back of another car and into a fence (pictured). My goal is to share this story in hopes of raising a little bit of money to take a bit of pressure off of the both of us. I've been struggling personally with a lot of anxiety after the stress of physically chasing them down in my car. So many things were going through my mind especially when I watched Norman approach them at the gas station. It no doubt wasn't safe but I couldn't just let them get away with it. I realize that it's the holiday season and many people, like us, are just trying to make ends meet in this crazy world.

I wanted to share our story with all of you and please know if nothing else, we really do appreciate your support and thoughts during this stressful time.

Much love,
Sarah & Norman
