A Home for the Chambers
And, not just "be here" be present, but to be engaged and to move in the direction God is calling us, which is to serve and to bless the marginalized here in THIS city. It's both scary and wild and fun all at the same time.
One thing we are learning that God never quite does things in the way we think he should or gives us the "perfect" little packaging. In fact, as we have prayed countless "finding God's direction" prayers in the last few years and he answered. Oh boy, did he answer.
This week we found out two things: 1) We were accepted to be paid through a missionary organization to live out God's mission as church planting apprentices here in Tacoma. 2)The home we are renting for the past 5 years and were planning on moving from into a REAL neighborhood come tax season (ya know, when we have a chunk of change) is being put up for sale MUCH sooner than tax season and we have to move..like pretty stat.
We need more than just four walls and a roof. We need a place that extends warmth and welcoming and a place that makes "faith" seem a whole lot less scary. Our home will be utilized for community gatherings, and a place of ministry. So you know the basics: a yard, parking, and a bathroom on a main level (all things missing in our current home).
So here we are...asking for a miracle to help raise enough funds for our first and last months rent, and deposit plus the amount necessary for the rent increase we will experience when we move (5 years is a lot of time for inflation), so that we can move forward in the vision God has so clearly given to us.
And, we ask you to join us. Join us in prayer, and excitement and celebration that we are moving (in more way that one). To read the full version please check out: www.chamberschaos.com/2014/11/06/pretty-little-packages-tied-up-with-string/
The Chambers Family
My kids were playing in our new yard yesterday. It was cold, but they were "exploring" and "making fires" (not real ones) outside and I just had an overwhelming sense of safety. At our current house, playing outdoors means 4 lanes of traffic, shady characters constantly walking by and no fence...its just not safe. My kids have a place of their own, and It is because of you. Thank you!
Seriously a blessing, as I'm cleaning the new house, and packing the old one, I'm singing praises to Jesus for His provisions and blessings for each and every one of you. Thank you so very much...just a little bit further to go :)
