Giinagay ngujawiny,
(Hello Everyone)

For the past 15 months our Corporation (Bularri Muurlay Nyanggan Aboriginal Corporation) has been utilising the space up at Sealy Lookout overlooking Coffs Harbour NSW to offer guests the opportunity to engage in local Gumbaynggirr culture.  We do this through our monthly Giingan Gumbaynggirr Cultural Experience and also through our recent addition of our Nyanggan Gapi container cafe.
We absolutely love having the opportunity to share our culture with a wider audience and feel very appreciative of the fact that we get to do so in not only one of the Coffs Coast's most beautiful locations, but also in a location that has been significant to the Gumbaynggirr people of the area for thousands of years.

As Sealy Lookout has no water or electricity access, we have  been running our cafe with the use of a generator and daily top-ups of a large water tank attached to the cafe.  Unfortunately on the 22/23rd March  the lock on the gates to Sealy Lookout was cut and our generator was stolen from behind our cafe.  We have been fortunate enough to lend a replacement generator from local business Kennards Hire which has allowed us to continue running our cafe each day.

We originally thought we would set up a "Go Fund Me" campaign to help our not-for-profit organisation raise the much needed funds to purchase a replacement generator, but then we got thinking, and decided that if we were going to set up a funding campaign, why not go bigger and work towards our goal of getting permanent water and electricity up at the Lookout and other infrastructure that we have envisioned to take our Giingan Experience to the next level.

We work closely with Forestry Corporation NSW and last year were given a rough quote of $100,000+ to get water and electricity up to Sealy Lookout.  Along with water and electricity, we'd also love to raise funds to put towards a bush tucker trail along the Gumgali Track and an amphitheatre at the Korora Lookout.  Our Giingan Tour guests walk along the Gumgali Track to get to the end destination of Korora Lookout.  We'd love to have a bush tucker trail for our guests to sample traditional foods and an amphitheatre for our dance group to perform song and dance at the end of the tour.

It's a big goal we know, but we truly believe in what we do and have received a tremendous amount of encouragement and support to continue sharing our culture with others.  We look forward to growing our Corporation, and are truly thankful to everyone that has already donated to us through our website.
