Background:
The Hakudakan is a small but reputable martial arts club based in London. Over the last 4 years we have been actively competing with great success in Full Contact Fillipino Stick Fighting at local, national and International levels. In this very short space of time we have managed to win and retain British, European and World titles.
This summer the GSBA Stick Fighting world championships will take place in Hawaii. We have already qualified and have been selected for Team GB. Training with the British squad is set to start very soon.
Why we need your help:
Stick fighting is a completely self-funded sport. We receive no financial support from the UK government and there are very limited sponsorship opportunities available. All of the funds required for flights, accommodation, entry fees, training equipment and training facilities are covered by ourselves and fundraising .
Great Britain Is currently ranked number 1 in the world for stick fighting. It would be such a shame to lose this pole position due to lack of funding and this is why we need your help to get us there!
We are preparing and training hard so with your support it will enable us to go and bring back the medals for team GB.
When & where:
The tournament will span 5 days of non-stop competing across multiple events. Including - Single Stick, Double Stick, Padded Stick and Multi / Open Padded Weapon. Starting from the 19th of July 2016 and will be hosted by GSBA USA at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort.

Being able to represent Great Britain and the Sport of Stick fighting means everything to us. We have already managed to raise some funds by running private events and receiving some generous donations from local businesses - however we still need more to get us there.
Your donation will not only enable us to get there and compete, but it will also help the sport with its continued growth and encourage a new younger generation to get involved in martial arts.
