GRR Fire Loss

Donation protected
On Saturday September 8, 2018, my sister Lynn suffered a tremendous loss to fire.  Lynn is a person that does NOT value the inadimant possessions but certainly requires the minimum of creature comforts to be able to care for her beloved animals.  In Saturday’s inferno she lost her living quarters which consisted of a 37ft travel trailer, a full stack (300 bales) of hay to feed her horses through the winter, her horse trailer she had custom built for her Gypsy horses and her entire tack building with at least 5 saddles (some no longer being produced), all bridles of various high values, high quality harnessing, custom embroidered show blankets, all grooming product and equipment inclusive of a blower for horses to dry them. The list can go on and on with regard to the equine items. She is still discovering what was lost as we sift through the rubble. Her travel trailer contained ALL of her personal items and many things were lost to flames or water but we have recovered enough clothing, bedding and kitchenware to get her started somewhere again. As per the usual with any disaster, some items of a personal nature can never be replaced.

Several items are for the most part replaceable if one has the financial means to do so but in her case, she does not. Lynn lives on social security and has a part time job to help augment her meager income. At 68 years old, she has her hands full taking care of her beloved Gypsy Vanner horses that she has been a breeder of since they arrived in the United States in the late 1990s. Part of the challenge to replace items is that Gypsy Horses require other-than-average size equipment.

Lynn does NOT own the property on which she is residing and therefore there isn’t any insurance to help cover the losses.

My sister is one of the hardest working people I have ever known and as I watch her emotionally melt, my heart is sick. She has always valued and taken care of whatever she has attained as replacement seemed costly. We were raised by the motto of “take proper care of things and they could last you a lifetime”. Sometimes it is out of our hands. This is the case with my sister Lynn.

I have watched people all over the world be devastated by disaster and my heart has always gone to those in need as well as my prayers. I have on occasion been in a position to help financially. But when it occurs in ones family it is beyond comprehension as to where to begin to rebuild. It is difficult to explain.

If you can find it in your heart to consider donating to her cause, I assure you the monies would be wisely spent on only the items she needs to replace and purchase hay for her horses.

Thank you in advance for your heartfelt consideration to this cause.
