Help w/ Paul's Medical Bills & Food

Hi, I am Calluna Markham and I am reaching out on the behalf of one of our tiny community residents, Paul. He had just finished up building a lean to extension on our goat shed (before the storm really got bad) and had gone home for the evening. He was on his way to meet the rest of the boys for a trip into town when he got his foot caught in some downed timbers, slipped fell and broke both bones in his leg just above his ankle joint. The ER set it but strongly recommended that he be evaluated by an Orthopedic Surgeon. Unfortunately, he has NO insurance and the Orthopedic will not see him without a cash deposit on the bill in the amount of $300. This is just the deposit, not the total bill, especially if he requires surgery to further pin or stablise the break. We need this amount as soon as possible.
On top of this, Paul works as a contract handyman to pay for his personal bills, such as his phone and internet connection. Until he heals, he is unable to do so. So we are turning to you, our online family of Off Gridders and friends we have made over the years. All money collected will be spent to cover his expenses and needs and will be kept track of. We aren't asking for hand outs- IF you want to be repaid, let us know and we will repay the monies in the order recieved after he heals and is able to return to working.

"I am the kind of person that will go out of my way to help others before myself. I came to Missouri to help Richard and Calluna Markham of Living Planet Farms in their quest to create a Permaculture Farm. Being the carpenter I am, I also picked up local side work to assist with some of the bills and was able to begin construction on a small cabin for myself. But an unforeseen accident happened and I find myself asking for help. I severely broke my ankle and will not be able to afford post ER treatment for lack of funds and even to determine if i need surgery. I do not like asking for help as my pride gets in the way, but i have no other option available. I am asking for any assitance you may be able to afford but i also would like to consider it a loan and repay all those that contribute once i am back into full health. I would also be willing to offer construction labor for those in a 100 mile radius of my location if it is a sizeable contribution.
