Team 11110 the Greenspun Robotic Dolphins need your support!
CCSD (Clark County School District) is not only the fifth largest, but also one of the lowest performing school districts in the entire nation. Unfortunately, the average academic rating is in the 60th percentile in the nation. There's great need for educational innovation here in Las Vegas, which provides for great opportunity. At Greenspun Junior High School one of these opportunities comes in the form of robotics.
Our VEX IQ Robotics teams just won the State Championship Tournament and have been invited to represent the state of Nevada in the 2018 VEX Robotics Worlds Competition this April in Louisville, Kentucky.
Our teams have worked incredibly hard this season to earn their successes. All three teams were recognized for their outstanding work, qualifying them to be part of this amazing opportunity. Our "Girl Powered" team B won both the Robot Design Award and Teamwork Champion Award. Team A also won the Teamwork Award (scoring the highest total of any team in a finals match). Finally, our team C, won the Excellence Award, being recognized as the State Champion. With only a few spots available at VEX Worlds, qualifying all three teams is an unparalleled accomplishment.
Through tenacious work, these students have not only earned success in the form of trophies and accolades, but success in the form of developing the necessary critical-reasoning and problem-solving skills that will help make them productive and economically competitive in today’s high-tech, high-skill global marketplace.
By supporting the Greenspun Robotic Dolphins in traveling to Kentucky to compete in Worlds, you are helping to pay for their flights, hotel accomodations, meals, and transporation. When these students see your donation you will be telling them that what they have accomplished this year is important. In sending them this message, you are confirming that STEAM skills are a vital part of their education and should continue to be developed.
