Green Planet Ministry was established in early 2008 as a New Jersey non-profit, non-denominational wedding ministry .
The original mission of Green Planet Ministry, was to establish a wedding ministry that welcomes all couples regardless of religious beliefs or sexual orientation. In may 2018 Green Planet Ministry celebrated it's 10 year anniversary. During that time we have officiated hundreds of wedding ceremonies for both religious and secular couples.
Many couples that I have married come from a religious background, but they may not be currently practicing any specific religion. So many do not attend or belong to any religious denomination, and do not have a pastor, priest or rabbi to marry them. Others that do not care for religious ceremonies will often want a more personalized service then can be provided at the local courthouse. This is where we come in, Green Planet Ministry can offer the opportunity to these couples to have a very romantic and meaningful marriage ceremony in a beautiful location, and let them celebrate their love with all their family, friends.
Having established that part of the ministry we are determined to grow Green Planet Ministry . That is where you come in, we are seeking funds to expand our operation to better serve our community and those in need. All monies received will go to that purpose. We believe children are a priority and should be well educated , well fed and well clothed. There are a number of ways this can be accomplished , but we need your support. We are in the beginning stages of this endeavor and require to start from the bottom up. As of today we need everything.
A donation of any size is greatly appreciated.
Another part of our mission is to educate and encourage people to GO GREEN!
"Going green" means to pursue knowledge and practices that can lead to more environmentally friendly and ecologically responsible decisions and lifestyles, which can help protect the environment and sustain its natural resources for current and future generations.
Going green is defined as making more environmentally friendly decisions such as to "reduce, reuse and recycle."
Green Planet Ministry believes that our planet should be revered and respected, and that nature signifies the process and wonders of the earth that are undetermined by humans. The earth is a living thing and therefore a gift for us. We encourage everyone to practice conservation, and try to do all they can through daily life, to give the earth every bit of energy they can find, to help its struggle for survival in today's harsh environment of pollution and damage.
Reasons for Going Green
Endangered animals, deforestation, global warming and growing landfills are having a detrimental effect on planet earth, and some day may make the planet a very unpleasant place to live.
Going green involves taking steps to minimize the damage humans are doing; to live an environmentally responsible life, and to make choices that will help preserve the earth and its non-renewable resources instead of destroying them.
By eating natural, organic, locally produced foods, you save on carbon emissions, limit the use of dangerous pesticides and have a healthier meal.
An example of going green is when you switch your light bulbs to compact fluorescent lamps and start recycling.
An example of going green is to recycle and buy recycled products.
We are also asking you to spread the word about Green Planet Ministry via social media or any means possible .
Principles of Green Planet Ministry
We are committed to the application of reason and science to the understanding of the universe and the solving of human problems.
We believe that scientific discovery and technology can contribute to the betterment of human life.
We are committed to the principle of the separation of church and state.
We are concerned with securing justice and fairness.
We want to protect and enhance the earth, to preserve it for future generations and to avoid inflicting needless suffering on other species
We believe enjoying life here and now and in developing our creative talents to their fullest.
We respect the right to privacy
We believe in common moral decencies: integrity, honesty, truthfulness and responsibility.
We believe the cultivation of moral excellence.
We are deeply concerned with the education of children. We want to nourish reason and compassion.
We are skeptical of untested claims of knowledge.
We believe in optimism rather then pessimism, hope rather then despair, learning in the place of dogma, truth instead of ignorance, joy rather guilt or sin, tolerance in place of fear, love instead of hatred, compassion over selfishness, beauty instead of ugliness, and reason.
