Green Entrepreneurship Fund

On February 27th, The Eco Market will be launching a pitch competition, in collaboration with the Waterloo Region Small Business Centre and Social Enterprise Southwest, for green entrepreneurs across Canada (priority to local businesses), happening at the Kitchener Public Library. In the Kitchener-Waterloo region, there is currently a gap for entrepreneurship support to green and social enterprises that are operating outside of the tech space and founded by a non-local university or college graduate. In contrast, we have a flourishing community of green entrepreneurs in the region that we feel strongly is being under-supported. This pitch night, which we hope to make an annual event, and The Eco Market in general, is focused on filling this gap and offering meaningful support, including in the form of mentorship and funding.

We’re asking for our community’s support for our pitch night. The funds raised will go to the first, second and third prize winners for our pitch competition. Each of our finalists will have the opportunity to get one-on-one pitch coaching from the Kitchener Small Business Centre. We hope that this pitch night can help fill some of the gaps we see in our community and we hope our community values our green business community enough to donate to our go-fund-me page. We are tremendously grateful to have your support.

Applications for the pitch competition are now open! Find all the details here: https://www.theecomarket.org/upcoming-events/theecomarketpitch
