Grandpa Karl's Final Resting Wish

Donation protected
As a Persion Gulf Navy Veteran, Karl Paddock always knew his life was to serve his country and community.

Karl after taking care of his ailling mother, joined the NW MT Foster Grandparent Program (a Volunteer Program) at the young age of 55 as a mentor to the headstart children of Flathead County in Kalspell, MT.  Towards the end of his first year of service he started to become ill. Into the second year of service he was informed that he was suffering from Terminal stage 4 cancer that started in his liver and then moved throughout his body.

Always seeing life with the "Glass Half Full" Grandpa Karl, as we knew him, then revisited his "Bucket List" and worked to start check marking things off it. Going on a hot air baloon ride, taking his grandchildren, who live in CA, to Disney Land, fly fishing, and in the last few weeks of his life reminding himself of his love for horses by being visited by one, and then getting a special one-on-one visit from our states Governor Steve Bullock.

Grandpa Karl lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday September 26, 2017 at 4:30pm.  We were told that in the last mintues of his life we wanted to make sure that his cat Skittles would be taken care of, and as soon as he was assured, he gave a smile and closed his eyes and passed peacefully.

One thing that weighed heavily on Karl's mind in the last month, was the cost for his final burial.  As a veteran he would receive benefits if buried in a state veteran cemetary of course, however Karl's father is buried at a cemetary in Stevensville, MT and Karl's wish is to be buried there with him.

We want desparately to honor that wish for Grandpa Karl, as he made many wishes come true for 100s of children in his final years of service.  In order to complete this last wish we need help to raise the final $4,500 to complete this financial obligation for Karl.

If you want to help us with this wish, we happily accept all donations with 100% going to his final wish.  Any monies received above and beyond this need will got to two specified organizations he mentioned he wanted to support if he was able so that they can remain to serve their communities, the local VA chapter and the Headstart where he served.

We thank you for your donation, support, and help to Grandpa Karl Paddock rest peacefully.  He is being served by the Buffalo Hills Funeral Home in Kalispell, MT.
