Grandma Needs Some Air!

Donation protected
Let me start by saying, that I post a lot on social media, mostly about my band, my music and shows. But, for once in my life, none of this is about me, far from it...

This is about my Grandmother, Georgiann Stroud. She is 74 years old and has been on oxygen for nearly 10 years. I have been a caregiver through IHSS for her and my Grandpa for about the same amount of time. For everything, I have done to help them out every week, Grandma picks up the pieces when I cant be there, which is saying something because my Grandpa is disabled from a stroke and is nearly blind. Grandma does as much as she can to keep going in everyday life but since being on oxygen has a very hard time lugging around those large metal oxygen tanks supplied by Apria.

She has expressed to me many times that her life would be infinity easier on her when having to go on trips or out in public without having to bring 4 or 5 or 6 oxygen tanks with her at any given time.  She yearns for a high tech oxygen concentrator that runs by charging electrically, only weighs about 3 or 4 pounds, stays activated for a good 5 or 6 hours before having to charge and can be worn like a purse instead of a terribly designed backpack.

Unfortunately, she herself is not able to afford one because her medical insurance does not cover it, even though she is on oxygen, nor can she afford to buy one out right or finance one because of her medi-cal and social security budget. Having a luxury medical item like this would benefit her to no end at this stage in her life because:

Due to changes in Medi-Cal and such, she is now paying way more out of pocket in premiums and dues then she has ever before AND because of that has lost her everyday help (me) because those changes cut off my funds and forced me to work full time and keep continuing my education so now my available time for assisting them with everything has been cut drastically, leaving the life of my Grandma and Grandpa in their own hands, which is basically Grandma doing the menial things like chores and errands herself because Grandpa can't drive anymore.

Allowing Grandma to be able to have access to an electric oxygen concentrator will allow her to do the everyday tasks without fear or anxiety of carrying heavy o2 tanks with her and the air quickly running out will make her life so much easier as the benefactor of her household.

Please make a donation to drastically improve an elderly woman's quality of life. If you can't donate, please share to your social media platforms.

Thank you! <3
