Graceland Bucket List

Hello everyone. This is our mother Velma. It’s hard to believe that she will be leaving us soon and we can’t do anything to stop it.  Her loving smile, laugh and  energetic personality will be surely missed.

She started her final battle with Cancer 8 months ago only to  find out last week that she has very little time left. She has Stage 4 Small Cell Lung Cancer that metastasized to her Brain, Lymph Nodes, Liver, Kidneys, Spleen & Pancreas. Her first round of chemotherapy slowed down the growth size of the tumours but since the chemo wore off the cancer spread like wild fire...fast and destructive.

When the doctor told her “if you have any plans, you must do it now”...that hit us all hard. What about the plans to watch her grandchildren grow & spoil them? to watch them marry or to be a great grandmother? What about her plans to retire? What about her plans to travel? We asked her, if you can do one thing, what would you do? And not surprisingly she said “go to Graceland”  If anyone knows Velma knows that she is a huge Elvis Presley fanatic and has been her entire life. So we are planning to go on a bucket list trip to Memphis Tennessee...either driving or flying if it’s possible.

This is her absolute last wish that we are going to try make happen. Our mother has been through cancer before and won, she has undergone brain surgery for aneurysms and succeeded, this time she knows she isn’t going to win, but she is still staying positive. Velma deserves to have a wish come true.

We are asking for some help to fund this little trip...anything helps, we know it’ll mean the world to her.
