THE VIEWS OF THOSE WITH MENTAL ILLNESS

Much like their family members, those personally suffering from mental illness and who also regularly attend church believe more could be done to help them. Here are the ways a majority said the Church could assist them:

74%: help families find local resources for support and dealing with the illness
63%: talk about it openly so the topic is not so taboo
61%: improve people’s understanding of what mental illness is and what to expect
58%: provide training for the Church to understand mental illness
57%: increase awareness of how prevalent mental illness is today

For many suffering from a mental illness, they simply want to be treated as people and not outcasts. Overall, 70% of  Christians with a mental illness wanted fellow church members to merely get to know them as a friend. For consistent church attenders, that number climbed to 78%. They just want to be treated like a person, which sometimes even those in ministry can forget to do.

SYNOPSIS

Based on true events, this is the inspirational story of crisis hotline responder John Aames.  Armed with nothing other than a pocket Bible and God's Word, John is called to the most dangerous of situations. From skid row  to bridge rails...  to the trailers of gun-wielding hostage takers.  Under the most dire of circumstances, John brings Christ to those who need Him most.  The film also focuses on the option and importance of adoption.

Grace by Night is the story of an ordinary man thrown into extraordinary circumstances as he struggles to bring Christ to 'the least of these.'  Filled with suspense, faith, laughter, and redemption, the movie is on the fast track to attract audiences worldwide.   This is a movie about every person’s journey to find hope and forgiveness in the darkest of situations.  It  will highlight the importance of supporting the mental health of our entire culture.

A MOVIE THAT ADDRESSES THE IMPORTANCE OF MENTAL HEALTH HEAD ON!

Columbine.  Sandy Hook.  Parkland. Virginia Tech. And the list goes on...

With the numerous shootings we are witnessing, we need a film now more than ever that addresses mental health head on. More than that,  we need a movie that offers audiences the one TRUE solution to the suffering and hurt our world is experiencing. Through this powerful true story, viewers will discover that no matter what struggle they may be facing, no matter how dark or painful their life may seem, there is always hope in the love of Jesus Christ.

We are living in a time and place where hope is often lost.  The ability to show love, forgiveness, and compassion for our neighbor is needed now more than ever.  This is a story about everyday people searching for hope in their darkest hours... and where they find it.

ABOUT THE JOB
Crisis hotline workers are the 'first responders' of mental health. They are on the front lines of suicide prevention and would-be tragedies. Due to the pressure of the job, John must rely on the strength and guidance of God's Hand in his life. Making life-and-death decisions, John learns the importance of trusting in a Will greater than his own.  This is a movie about offering forgiveness at all cost. About getting out of the comfort of our churches and into the streets with God’s message as Jesus did.

THEMES
The narrative of this motion picture will cover a variety of issues our culture currently wrestles with.  Some of which include... discovery of faith, overcoming mental health issues, addiction and recovery, finding redemption, offering forgiveness at all cost, and the importance of putting hope and trust in God's love and saving grace!

IT'S NOT JUST A MOVIE.  IT'S A MOVEMENT.
We want everyone to leave this movie inspired to live more loving lives.  If we can change even one life with this film, then we've succeeded.  But if that one person went out into the world and inspired others to do the same... then we haven't just created a MOVIE... we've progressed a MOVEMENT.  How many lives could be changed?

This isn't a film intended to merely entertain the audience.  It's more than that.  It's a CALL TO ACTION.  Now more than ever we need films that rehabilitate our culture.  Films that motivate, nurture, and provide hope and healing to audiences worldwide.  This is a film that will not only change lives, but could very well save them.
