Help Our Mom Fight Cancer

Our Mom, Maureen Gazitua Hueyo, the most loving woman you will ever encounter. If you meet her, you will never forget her. Loving, kind and passionate about helping others. She is our greatest inspiration!

She has devoted her entire life to helping others in need, whole heartedly and without expecting anything in return. This selfless, God-loving woman has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma Cancer. Always putting others first, now it's our time to give back. Our family humbly requests your support and prayers.

Late last year, she was suffering from back pain that left her bed ridden. Doctors diagnosed her with Osteoporosis and recommended Kyphoplasty (restoration of the vertebrae). We were assured a full recovery within days, but instead the surgery resulted in severe double pneumonia. She was hospitailized and later she received a more severe diagnosis, Multiple Myeloma Cancer.

This disease is eating away her bones causing unbearable, severe pain. So much pain that we have had to rush her to the hospital on several occasions. The cancer is spreading fast and has broken two other bones in her spine (L4-L5).  It's putting pressure on her spinal cord and nerves that run down her legs, making it almost impossible to walk. On Monday, our mom had no choice but to start radiation treatments.

An angel on earth, she has a clear calling to help people. One of her ministries, Woman in Christ, "takes woman in crisis to Christ." She has fought relentlessly for victims in her community. She works with girls and women of teenage pregnancy, rape, and physical and emotional abuse. She fights for their right to safety, shelter, healthcare, and independence – literally anything they need, any TIME they need it.

She is the voice for helpless people in her community.

After much research and lots of prayers, we found a clinic that combines holistic treatments and traditional western medicine (unfortunately not covered by insurance). This clinic has a great reputation in healing many people with cancer, including Multiple Myeloma. Our mom has said, “I so believe this is where my healing lies, along with the power of God!”

As we plan for our mother’s long-term battle with cancer, we’re left overwhelmed . Because of her original back pain/surgery, hospitalizations, and her recent diagnosis, she has been unable to work. Friends and family have chipped in to help pay bills. Our Dad is working two jobs and takes care of her when he is home. Their current finances have become  daunting, especially when combined with treatment costs expected in the next year. Our mom will need at least $65,000 to cover the costs of her treatment and care.
