Mackenzie's Cancer Fight
Andrea gave birth to our granddaughter Mackenzie Grace on June 29th 2017. She was induced 1 month early since genetic testing showed that Mackenzie has the genetic mutation for retinoblastoma (cancer of the eyes). The initial specialist handling this type of rare cancer is located in Boston Mass. Mom, Dad and baby are traveling from Delaware to Boston for eye exams and cancer treatments with required overnight stays. The medical/travel expenses are quite substantial. We are asking for your prayers and the sharing of this campaign on your social media sites. Please consider making a financial contribution to help our little warrior win her fight with cancer. Thanks in advance for your support during this trying time for our family.+ Read More
Another clear check up for Mackenzie! Almost six months of no new tumors or regrowths. Thank God.
Kenzie had a great monthly check-up today. All clear - no new tumors. So thankful for this exciting news!
Mom and Dad shared this update: "Today we are so grateful! It’s the first month in 19 months that we did NOT have to travel to Boston. Mackenzie’s first EUA at CHOP in Philly showed all clear - no new tumors. Thank you to everyone for all the support we have had since Mackenzie's birth. Love you all."
Kenzie's checkup in Boston went well with no new tumors in either eye! She had an MRI on Wednesday and EUA on Thursday (both under anesthesia). Plan is to meet with local Doctor in Philadelphia and do her next few monthly EUAs at CHOPS in Philly. However, if any new tumors/regrowths are found and laser surgery is warranted, family would need to go back to Boston immediately to have it done. Will definitely need to travel to Boston in June for primary Doctor to do that month's EUA. Keep the prayers, shares and support coming since even though we are grateful for this month's good report there remains an unknown road ahead for our strong little cancer fighter.
