Welcome to the USA Under 25 Young Eagles "gofundme" page! We are a national under 25 rifle team headed to the World Long Range Championships held at Camp Perry - Port Clinton, Ohio. Just like the Olympics, the world championships for long range target shooting is held every four years.
In 1999, the World Individual Long Range Championships were held at Bloemfontein in South Africa. Ian Cheeseman, a competitor, noticed that the United States was the only major country in attendance without an Under 21 ("U21") or Under 25 ("U25") Team. The following year, Ian founded, organized and selected the inaugural Young Eagles team, who set their sights on the Millennium Matches held at Bisley in England. In the Millennium Matches, the Young Eagles defeated ten other international junior teams and won the inaugural Under 21 World Championship.
Since the Millennium Matches in 2000, the USA Young Eagles Rifle Team has competed in many international competitions, which include the 2003, 2007 and 2011 World Long Range Championships. It is important to note that the USA Young Eagles Rifle Team represents the United States in international Under 25 Long Range competitions only. For domestic competitions and training sessions, Under 25 shooters compete and train as members of the USA Under 25 National Rifle Team. The USA Young Eagles Rifle Team is composed of the top most preforming shooters of the USA Under 25 National Rifle Team, selected to represent the USA in International and World Championship Competitions.
