Gotland Refugee Fund

Donation protected
The refugee crisis in Europe is a terrible tragedy. Although it may seem like we can do nothing, there actually is something we can do.

Holly Kartchner, a government teacher at Blackfoot High School, has family living on the Swedish island Gotland. Around 250 refugees were dropped off on the shores of Gotland with no shoes, coats, medicine, or hygiene products. Almost all of these refugees' possessions were thrown overboard as they traveled on boat to make room for more people. Although we cannot provide these people asylum, we can donate money to send to Holly's family in Sweden to buy diapers, medicine, hygiene products, and clothing for the refugees there. It is too expensive to send coats and shoes by mail, and this will allow the refugees to get the items they need to stay warm and clean for winter. The sooner these funds are raised, the better. These refugees are men, women, and children who were displaced from their homeland unhumanely, and this project will help prove that there is still humanity in the world.

All of the money raised through this campaign will directly benefit the refugees of Gotland. We are extremely grateful for any and all contributions, no matter how large or small. If you are unsure of this fund, please donate to the Red Cross. Just like this fund, the Red Cross contributes all donations directly to the source.
