Songwriter Marcia Henry, a songwriter who has written big songs for many groups like The Nelons, Karen Peck and New River, Jeff and Sheri Easter, The Whisnants, The Bowlings, and so many more. Our industry depends on the help from these great writers to get our message across, but now she is in desperate need. She has been in constant pain with health problems consuming her life since 2006; debilitating headaches, a heart condition, and back pain. There has not been a day that has gone by in the last twelve years that she has not been in pain. After five surgeries that have dealt with her heart and back, she now has been told by her doctor that her headaches are a condition called Chiari Malformation, and is going to require decompression surgery, brain surgery.Marcia has not been able to work since February. Her husband, Tim, had to retire early due to his own health conditions. He has found a part time job working two days a week to bring in some income, but needless to say, money is very tight right now. Today Rhonda and I went to visit with Marcia, because we were told she had a severe roof issues. Tim has been very worried because he knew the roof was failing. It’s leaking in multiple areas of the home, and it is thirty years old, but he knew they did not have the means to replace it. Repairs are not an option. Here is my plea, with the upcoming brain surgery, and everything that goes with it, I want to give her a safe home to come back to.
