Go Rescue Pet Adoption Center is a place where miracles take place - at least that might be how it seems to the more than 1,600 dogs who were given a chance at life thanks to the tireless work of Georgia Obenaus, founder of Go Rescue Pet Adoption Center.
Right now, the rescue, which cares for up to 60 dogs at any given time, is in desperate needs of funds to continue their amazing work. The money raised will be used to pay vet bills and buy dog food and other items needed for the daily care of the dogs who are lucky enough to have been rescued by Georgia.
The animals at Go Rescue are plucked from death row. Many have been overlooked because of medical conditions. Others just needed a little extra love to learn to trust again after being abused and neglected.
Without Go Rescue, these dogs would have been put down and never would have know what it was like to be part of a loving family.
Here is just a bit of Georgia's story and a glimpse into why she started Go Rescue:
"In 2011 we lost our home and my focus then became how to keep the dogs that I've rescued from going to a kill shelter until they can find great homes. A woman that I barely knew gave me starter $$ to find that safe place. So we had an empty building, just 4 walls and a cement floor. 2 years prior I took in a handicapped boxer from a family whom I didn't know. This turned out to be a miracle for us, as they (Bay Mechanical) came to our rescue when we needed help and donated electricians, plumbers, and builders so I could not only keep my current rescues safe, but continue and grow our rescue efforts. On Valentines Day of 2015 we moved our entire operation to Hunt Club Farm in Va Beach (a much more rescue-friendly location). Go Rescue is not funded, and relies solely on the kindness and donations of others in order to continue. Please donate whatever you can spare--whether it be time, money, supplies, sellable items, etc..it all counts and it's always appreciated. So far we have rescued over 1600 dogs and still counting..."
Every dollar helps to save lives. No one can do it alone, but people like Georgia, and the volunteers who help care for the dogs day after day, Please give so that this amazing rescue can continue to save dogs from languishing and dying in kill shelters.
