The Good Guys (Mantra for America)
Hi! I'm creating a music video for my original song with my band to celebrate "The Good Guys", a gender-neutral term to denote those people who take action to do what is kind, decent and fair for the common good of all. The video is being filmed at Cinque Terre, a restaurant in Davie, Florida, where I perform regularly. It will feature the hardworking people who made the restaurant successful as well as their customers from the diverse and beautiful community of Broward County.
My intention is to create a play it forward campaign and move this song across America, via multiple social media platforms. My goal is to share the song/lead sheet with thousands of other musicians, who will play it at their gigs and venues, and share their versions with me to post on my social media page. Just think, we can hear all kinds of renditions: rap, pop, acapella, rock, R&B....
We're living in a tumultuous time; people are divided, angry and anxious. We need as many good guys as possible. As my song says, "I think it's real important that the Good Guys win. "
Funds raised for this project will offset costs of studio recording, the videographer's work, and the marketing/advertising costs for social media sites. Music has the power to move others to great feats. I hope you'll consider being a part of this project. I'm kicking off this campaign this week, and hope to reach my goal by July 15th.
