Gone too soon: Mark Enwaya

Donation protected
Mark Enwaya fled Iraq with his parents and sister to have a new and SAFE life (away from violence) in Canada.

After the family settled in Saskatoon, Mark learned English quickly and worked hard to provide for his family. He did everything he could to support them. Not only was Mark the family’s primary source of income, he faithfully drove his mom to English classes every day, and he supported his sister so that she could get her GED and fulfill her dreams to go to University.

Although the Enwaya family hoped for a life free from violence in Canada, this was not the case for them.

Tragically on March 12, 2019, the kind and hard-working Mark was fatally shot by two teens (ages 15 and 17) on his way home from work.

We need your support to help Mark's family who have to live with this incredible trauma and tragedy.

With your donation, you’ll help to ensure that Mark’s family can continue their life in Canada, and can afford all the basic necessities that Mark had paid for through his sole income. Your donation will also support the much needed and important counselling sessions (from the shock and trauma) so that the family can begin to heal from this terrible tragedy.

If you can’t make a donation, please also consider sharing so that we’re able to reach more people with this story. Your donation is truly needed at this time and every single dollar helps.
