We are raising funds for our April 2019 performances of new experimental vocal work, help us meet our goal of $1,500 to pay our production team.
ABOUT US
Margaret McNeal and Stephanie Lavon Trotter are trained vocalists, skilled in Western classical traditions and extended vocal technique. They have dynamic voices, and can make an array of sounds. After finding common threads of inquiry between their vocal practices, the two have forged a vocal and performance-based collaboration, GOLDEN ORGAN , to explore their interests together.
On April 19th & 20th, 2019, GOLDEN ORGAN will be sharing their first collaborative performance, "and there was a new voice which you slowly recognize as your own", an immersive, multi-disciplinary presentation of “Opera”, asking how can we process grief and cultivate listening & empathy, as individuals and a collective? With our voices we compose within the multiplicity of textures and timbre, with and without electronics, to expel and transform our stories, shared in sounds, song, and text.
Performance Works NW has generously invited us to share our work as an Alembic Co-Production in April 2019, which allows us to rehearse and rent the venue for the event at a prorated cost, and helps with many aspects of production for our two-evening performance run. BUT WE STILL NEED YOUR SUPPORT to fund the talented artists we will employ in our production team.
FUNDING
$1,500 will pay for our production costs:
• A two-day intensive with a dramaturg.
• Technical director for two performance in April 2019.
• Performance documentation (professional video & photos).
