Caring for Blaine

Since Mom's accident, our beloved Dad, Blaine's memory loss has declined rapidly and our family made the very hard decision just last week to place him in a memory care home. He is being so tenderly cared for in the absence of our mom, who had provided the round-the-clock presence and attention he needs. It’s been a heart-wrenching process and yet we’re grateful for these new caregivers who are helping him.

As you can imagine, the expenses and transition of all of this has left our family in a really rough spot as Mom was not only his caregiver, but also the primary source of income for our parents. For those of you who have asked how you can help us during this season, we would point you to consider contributing to his care. And pray for him as he settles in to his new home. Every day he asks where Golden is, and steps though the hallways with his big smile offering to pray for his new friends. His pastor’s heart is a blessing and light to those around him. Always has been.
