Please help us save homeless cats and kittens dumped and left to die on the streets of the Gold Coast.!!!!!

Our Story.....

Five years ago I became aware of a large colony of stray cats after almost running over a litter of tiny kittens in a car park in an industrial area.

It was there that I was confronted with emaciated, starving, injured cats and kittens fighting to survive amongst the rubbish bins on the street out in the elements

Heartbroken, I contacted many of the large Rescue Organisations,

NOBODY WANTED TO KNOW.

No one put their hand up or wanted to take any responsibility, and nobody gave a damn what happened to them or if they were suffering.

It was someone else’s problem….

A few small cat rescue groups however have gone above and beyond to help us where they can, but sadly they do not have the resources, time or capacity to cope with the mammoth task of rescuing & rehoming these animals, or to cover the financial burden.

It was also here that I met two other compassionate human beings who had also been caring for these animals. Together we made a decision that we could not walk away. These innocent animals didn’t choose to be born into their miserable existance, they had no choice!

We all deserve a chance at life, and we were their only hope. Something had to be done. So together, the three of us joined forces to save these animals from the most horrific of circumstances.

Over the last 5 years we have worked tirelessly and at our own cost to save hundreds of homeless cats and kittens.

Over 50% of kittens born on the streets don’t survive past the first week of their tiny lives, and even if by some miracle they do, their life expectancy is less than 3 years.

In those brief three years of life they are at the complete mercy of the elements, their surroundings, and people.

Life for a homeless cat is an uphill battle every single day, just to survive….

And so our battle continues..

With the numbers of cats & kittens increasing every day we just can’t keep up. We desperately need help with donations so we can continue to feed them every day, cover medical costs, vet bills, formula and the necessary supplies for at risk babies to be kept alive. We need help with the huge ongoing costs for caring for these helpless animals, getting them to foster carers, having them desexed, vaccinated, their medical and vet costs, and re-homed to loving families.

As Australians, we have a lot to be proud of. However, animal rights is an area we gravely neglect.

Our Australian values of a “fair go” is completely forgotten when it comes to protecting homeless or misplaced animals.

Australian Authorities bait and poison stray cats. It is a inhumane, horrific, slow and tortuous death. Unlike other civilized countries which TNR (Trap, Neuter and Return) unowned cats, Australia murders them.

“TNR” is a proven, evidence based program which manages and reduces stray cat populations by humane practices all around the world……except Australia.

We need to get these little kittens off the streets now, and prevent them being run over and killed by cars, drowning in stormwater drains and succumbing to starvation and the elements, - especially now winter is here, we urgently need your help.

Paws with a Cause receive no Government Funding.  We have worked tirelessly over the last five years, funded completely by ourselves. We are now depending on the kindness of strangers, and the goodwill of the kind hearted, to help us achieve this.  Please don't think "they are just cats they'll survive.." they are animals that feel pain, cold, hunger and fear, just like we do. But they are at OUR mercy. It is simply not right to "pretend" they are not there or that they are ok... because the reality is - they are not...

Every donation helps, even the smallest donation will help feed a hungry mouth, and save a tiny life.

We are their only hope in having a chance at life, to know what it feels like to have a safe warm place to sleep, a full tummy, and to feel loved.

We all deserve these basic fundamentals in life.

Without us, these animals don’t have a chance.

Thankyou for taking the time to read our story. Please share our page and help save these tiny helpless lives.
