Gold Award FarmBot

Donation protected
Hello friends and family!

I have begun my Gold Award project for Girls Scouts. This is a project that not many Scouts complete as it takes much time and commitment. My project is already underway with the building of our very own FarmBot at Anderson High School. FarmBot is a unique system started on Kickstarter based off of the design of a 3D printer. It uses X, Y, and Z axes to seed, water, and weed a garden bed. My design of the bed makes the garden portable for display around the school in order to share it with other classes and programs. It will benefit others by being incorporated into the foods program. They will be able to use the fresh produce in recipes and promotell healthy living with the maintenance of a garden at home. The Bot will be maintained and improved upon by the STEM program for their learning and experience of electronics. In addition, we hope to grow and sell seedlings for future fundraising for the robotics program and STEM classroom materials.

Although many parts have been generously donated, I need to raise about $400 to cover the cost of the remaining parts. This will pay for the pricier electronics that will need to be ordered as well as the gantry rails. If you are interested in donating to my project, it would be greatly appreciated and used well. A share on Facebook would also be a helpful way to spread the word!

Thank you for your interest and support!
