Patricia Ann Houp is my beautiful wife, partner and best friend. We have been married for 8 years, and have 3 gorgeous children together. Tylen is 7, Kameron is 6, and our beautiful baby girl Kaylin just turned 1 year old. Trish is an amazing wife, and even more incredible mother. She will, and has, give the shirt off of her back not only for her family, but to anyone in need. She regularly volunteers to help with the children's ministry and nursery at our church, and we have been blessed with an amazing church family who has helped us in so many areas of our marriage, children, and family in general. But some things are in need of more help than even the most blessed church can provide. Around the time that our daughter was born last year, Trish started having severe migraines and dizzy spells. Over the course of a few months, she was referred to specialists and neurologists whom brushed it off as "stress migranes". In January of this year, we got tired of getting the runaround and denied MRI's, so I took her into the E.R. and fought with them to have an emergency MRI done. When the results came in, we could not believe our ears. She was told she had a tennis ball sized brain tumor in her Cerebellum and that it was pressing on her spinal cord shaft causing the debillitating headaches and dizziness. Then they proceeded to tell me that if I would not have brought her in today, that she would not have made it much longer. That was alot to take in. She was rushed to MUSC and had surgery on 1/12/17. The surgeons stated that they did not get all of it out because of the severity of the area it is located, so a second surgery is now being done on 5/1/17. She has to be monitored 24/7, so I have had to leave my job and stay home to care for her and the kids. I try to work on cars from home when I can, but bills are piling up and the assistance we have recieved already cannot pay for everything. So I am setting this up in faith, knowing that God will lead those who can help to do so in any way they can. Please do whatever your heart leads you to do. If you cannot help financially, or already have all you can, than please tell everyone you can, contact me if you want to donate clothing, food or any other items that may help us. There are so many ways to help others, just follow your own heart. We thank everyone that has helped so far, and we know that God is in control, he will see her through this, and he will bless us and everyone we know in amazing ways. God bless you all, and please keep us in your prayers. Thank you.

                                          Sincerely,
                                    Jamie E. Houp

First, let me thank everyone that has been there for us and with us through this life altering craziness so far. Without support from loved ones, we would be so lost right now. Everything from financial needs, clothing and food, diapers and n.a. y supplies, to a simple shoulder to lean on and cry on at times. You have no idea how much the little things mean when you feel like you world has been flipped upside down and is crumbling around you. Thank you so much for everything! We love you all!
Since our last update, Trish had seemed to just be dealing with the sideaffects of the stroke she incurred during her second surgery. The tremors, the double vision, the balance issues and the nausea all seemed to be staying steady, but that didn't last long. Right before Christmas, her nausea started to become more severe and more often. They had changed her medication numerous times to attempt finding one that would control it. Eventuall phenergan was able to help somewhat, but not completely. After some blood tests, they found that she had gal stones from vomiting so much for so long. So on 4/10/18 she had her gal bladder removed in an effort to help with the nausea. Unfortunately it has not. Also about a month ago, out of nowhere, she started having trouble chewing her food. Her jaw would stay open any time she put food in it. MRI tests showed that the tumor has grown and more than likely is pressing on a nerve that is causing that to happen. So now she will be having Gamma Knife Radiation on 4/19/18. I have had to spend most of my time taking care of her and the baby and the car flipping that was working out so well for us has been totally screwed up. And most of you know the situation with the in home nursing care and day care for Kaylin and the reason why I am not able to be working at the moment. So we desperately need all the help we can get right now! Her disability covers our rent, but that is all. The rest of our bills are covered by my car business. I have attempted to get assistance from every agency that Horry County and the state have to offer. We have electric covered by Waccamaw EOC through mid May, and food is covered pretty well besides milk usually. We are usually short by a few gallons a month. But water will be shut off within days, auto insurance will be cancelled which will cause fines and revoked licence and registration, and all the other necessities that are stressing me out so bad to try to figure out how to take care of. Please help in any way that you can. Donation are always the best way to help, but since I buy and sell cars if you have a vehicle that you don't need anymore that has been sitting around that may need more mechanical or body work then you feel like dealing with I would absolutely take that off of your hands gladly as well. Also any other type of mechanical equipment that I can work on and resell that you would like to donate like four wheelers dirt bikes motorcycles Etc. Also any type of work that I could do it on the side from home such as body work on your vehicle or light mechanical work on your vehicle or motorcycle. Also custom body work or paint on motorcycles or golf carts I do as well. So there are numerous ways that you can help but we are in desperate need right now. With her surgeries and now radiation coming up and the doctors are trying to find a Mobility specialist in the neurology department to help her with her tremors, I am going to be constantly running her to Dr, surgeries, specialists, Etc. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and our updates. May God bless you all and absolutely amazing ways.

Patricia has now undergone 4 major surgeries, 1 of which had complications and she unfortunately had a hemoragic stroke during recovery. She now has terrible tremors and her arms and head flail uncontrollably all day. She cannot walk correctly and needs a wheelchair mostly to get around, and her ability to speak has been dramatically affected. They have tried numerous medications and have even installed a Shunt in her head to try to control the fluid pressure from building up too much. All to no avail so far. Thankfully we rely on Gods word and not doctors and know that she will be healed, and everything that was taken from her will be restored! We have been so blessed in the past few months to get ahead enough financially through my buying and selling of cars, that we we're able to finally get into a 3 bedroom house to accommodate our family and upgrade our vehicle to that of a more dependable one. However, through all of the surgeries, hospital stays and having to get hotel rooms, pay for day care, and take the time to care for her and the kids through all of this, the few cars that I had sold recently have paid all of our bills to date and we are now preparing to slowly lose everything very quickly if I do not replenish our funds by the end of the month. We have been so blessed and have been spreading the blessings forward, and now ask those who we have been so blessed to have in our lives to please spread the word on this horrible situation on this amazing woman and her family and to help in absolutely any way you can. I am also trying to help her get supplies together to paint acrylic onto canvases (those who have seen her art know how good she is) so that she can have a therapeutic outlet as well as help contribute to bills by selling them and donating part of the proceeds to Cancer Agencies to help with this cause. Will will be naming it "Canvas for Cancer". So both of us will be donating a portion of our income to the cause that has affected so many of us worldwide. Please help us to keep the lively hood we have worked so hard to achieve that allows her the only peace of mind she has right now. Thank you so much for all of the amazing help you have already done! I know that God will bless this cause and bring his army of believers in to fight with us. May God bless all of you in amazing ways! And thank you so much in advance for all that you do!

Love,
Jamie

Since Trish's brain surgery that lead to a severe hemoragic stroke, there has been ups and downs. I can't lie, it has been hard. Very hard. But I also have faith. I have faith that God will stand by our side. I have faith that he will not allow us to endure more than we can handle. And I have faith that he will provide and we will have an amazing testimony that will strengthen and encourage many others in the future. I believe that because of my unwavering faith in Him, and the intense desire to succeed in the midst of troubles, He has blessed us in extraordinary ways! He has blessed us with an amazing new home that was so unbelievably God orchestrated that it cannot be denied, and blessed by others that have been there for us in every way, every day. And I have followed my heart with full faith, and no worries. We have definitely done so on a very modest budget, and that budget is exhausted. I know we will be okay, but we definitely need help with keeping what we have obtained. I have invested my money wisely, and will soon pay off, but till then, we have a period of financial insecurity to face. Please help us continue to have peace of mind. I don't want my family to worry, and Trish needs to feel as secure as possible right now. She has struggled enough. So please spread this message to all, because God knows that she deserves blessings and love and the peace that she has had since the move has been amazing! I just want her to keep it. Thank you to everyone who already has done sooo much! We love you guys, and may God bless you all on amazing ways!

So I brought Trish to MUSC today for her doctor's visit. First time she has seen her oncologist and surgeon since the surgery in May. They are scheduling another MRI so that they can view the results between the one directly after surgery the one in June and the one coming up and see what kind of growth the fluid is having and if there's any growth with the remaining bits of tumor. It is pretty much determined that she will need radiation at some point down the road but right now they are trying to concentrate on the issues at hand such as the tremors. Since they have not been able to provide medication I spoke with the doctors about my try with CBD oil and discussed with them options as far as getting that prescribed or medical marijuana if CBD is not an option. South Carolina has still not passed medical marijuana laws but they do have a marijuana derivative that they are prescribing her to see if the benefits will act the same as they do with some other patients who have tried it. We will see how well that works and if need be I will continue with CBD until marijuana laws are passed and now that I know the benefits I will be pushing for medical marijuana legalization for South Carolina. I always thought that it was just an excuse for people to get high but boy was I wrong the medical benefits are surely there I wish I would not have been so closed minded this whole time. But Trish is starting to have a much better spirits since she has been going back to church and spending more time with people from the church who have been coming over and speaking with her and hanging out with her. Thank you for all of your love and support during these tough times you have no idea how blessed we are to have you all in our lives.
