Goals for Ellon Hockey Club

Ellon hockey club is an amateur sports team based 15 miles north of Aberdeen. It provides hockey for the Buchan and Formartine area, and without it, players from Peterhead, Mintlaw, Inverurie, Oldmeldrum and Ellon would have to commute to Aberdeen for hockey. We have a Men's team, and 2 Ladies teams. We also have a thriving youth section. All adult teams play in the north district league, with the ladies 1st team winning the league last season, the ladies 2nd team finishing 2nd in Division 2, and the Men consolidating their place in Division 1 after 4 years in division 2.
The club requires new hockey goals, as the current goals are beginning to deteriorate. Without goals in a safe condition, we cannot play hockey.
The new goals for the club are required quite urgently. They have another season of good use in them, but after that, we will no longer be able to carry out running repairs.
As for me, My name is Billy and I am currently the men's team captain and also one of the coaches for the ladies 2nd team. In the picture, I am the big ginger guy in the back row, 3rd from the right!! I work as a civil servant, and in my spare time, I play hockey, cricket, golf and I am also a keen hill walker.
To aid the fund raising for this, I am going to take part in the Rat Race coast to coast event on Saturday 14th September 2019. It is a 104 mile challenge from Nairn on the Moray firth to Glencoe village, in the heart of the highlands. It comprises of a 7 mile run from Nairn to Cawdor Castle, an 84 mile cycle (on and off road) from Cawdor castle to Fort William, a 14 mile run from Fort William to the north shore of Loch Leven through Lairig Mor, and then a mile across Loch leven by kayak to the finish at Glencoe Village.
I have been training hard all year for this ( I've lost 13kg already) and I'm using it as a way of getting in tip-top shape for my wedding the following weekend.
