Support Children’s Mental Health

In Missouri, children’s well-being is consistently ranked in the bottom half of the fifty United States. We are five representatives from Webster University’s applied psychology graduate program who care about and are advocating for children’s mental health. One in five young people have mental health challenges but very few children in need of mental health services ever receive them.
This has driven us to focus on school psychology and efforts to improve children’s well-being in our home state and throughout the world. As a result, the five of us, along with 20 of our colleagues, have conducted a research study on the mental health of youth in Missouri. The outcome of our study will be presented at the International School Psychology Association Conference at the University of Amsterdam July 20th through the 23rd this summer in the Netherlands.
We are hoping that by sharing our good ideas about the best ways to support wellness, mental health and happiness with psychologists on an international level that our efforts will improve the lives of more children.
The five of us are Laura Grizzle, Centron Felder, Erica Vaughn, Samra Sahbegovic, and Benjamin Koenig. We are excited to be representing the whole group of Webster University applied psychology graduate students that worked on the study at the international conference. We have started this GoFundMe campaign because international travel is very expensive.
We hope to raise $4,000 to contribute to our publication and presentation expenses and transportation costs. To make this trip possible we are hoping to secure the funds by July 3rd.
As a thank you, the top ten contributors will receive original artwork created by students who are professional and budding artists.
