Go Fund Me to the Tokyo Olympics

The start of the 2020 Olympic trials are only 30 days away. 

From now until April, there are 3 major events I must compete in to secure my nomination to the Olympic Team. These include the Sailing World Cup Miami in January, followed by the RSX Worlds in Sorrento, Australia, in February, and the Princesa Sofia Regatta in Palma, Spain, in March. I need to be the top placing female Canadian at Worlds and the Princesa Sofia regatta to qualify for Tokyo.


My Story:



I have been training for the Olympics for the past 8 years. My Olympic journey has been filled with many ups and downs. In 2016, I was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident that left me with a moderate concussion only weeks away from my Olympic selection events. Although I managed to qualify the country a berth for the 2016 Olympics, I was not nominated to the Olympic Team, and the berth was reallocated to another country.


This is my second chance. There is a strong likelihood that Canada will qualify a country berth for Tokyo at the Miami Sailing World Cup, and if that happens, a female Canadian will be sent to the Olympics for RSX.  I need your help for one final push to get me qualified. I need financial assistance in getting to the qualification events.


Every donation received will go directly into funding these events. Every dollar could make the difference toward my qualification.


The Objective:

 I am aiming to fundraise $8,000 by January 19th, to contribute towards the cost of coaching for the remaining events:


Budget:

Airfare: 2000+1200+500 = $3700

Accommodation: 1200+1000+1000 = $3200

Entry fees: 533+300+300 = $1133

Coaching: 1000 + 4000 + 3000 = $8000

Equipment: $2000

= 18,033.



I have been working tirelessly on the water, in the gym,as well as working part time to support my campaign. It is quite the juggling act, so I  really appreciate all donations, as it allows me to focus on my training over the next few months.
