Help Max Fight Cancer

Donation protected
For transparency, I wanted to share Max’s itemized receipt for his upcoming procedure and care for anyone who was curious.  Please feel free to read further to learn about our journey!

Maximus (Max) is a beautiful husky, 12 years young, and living in Charleston, SC.  Max is so kind, gentle, loves running, and he is my very best friend.

Soon after his 12th birthday in late February, I took Max to the vet for a physical to assess his overall health.  During the visit we did blood work and the results showed elevation in his liver values.  After an ultrasound of his liver and gallbladder, we discovered a tumor located in Max’s liver.

After visiting the Oncologist and completing a CT scan, the scan showed a Hepatocellular Carcinoma (Massive Tumor) located on the left side of his liver.

What is the Game Plan?
To surgically remove the tumor from Max’s liver.

The Surgeon and Oncologist are optimistic of the outcomes.  They believe by removing the tumor it will prolong his life.  Additionally, Max will be able to continue his healthy and active lifestyle.

What If We Left The Tumor?
Max’s quality of life will decrease and his life expectancy as well.

Unfortunately, we are already seeing a decrease in quality of life due to this tumor.  He is starting to get uncomfortable due to the tumors size.

Also, we are starting to see issues with his heart rhythms.  He is starting to have abnormal heart beats.  He has to wear a heart monitor for 24hrs.  We are waiting for the results.

Why Do I Need The Funds?
To help pay for Max’s surgery to remove the tumor in his liver.

Max holds a very special place in my heart and is without a doubt a member of the family.  Max is everything to me.  We wake up together, run 3-4 miles 5 days a week, dance around the house, play hide and seek, and cuddle every night together.   I strive to protect Max from the life threatening causes of this tumor and to continue to his active, fun-filled lifestyle.

If you have had the opportunity to know and love Max, or if you are a fellow dog lover and know the special bond with one, any donation from $5-$500 is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed.

Love,
Martha and Max
