Hope for Mom Fund
Please help our mother, Vivian, with her battle with breast cancer.
My name is Laura Real and I have an older sister, Amy Rodriguez. Vivian Real, our mother, has been battling cancer off and on for the past 4 years. At the end of 2011, she went to the doctor for lower back pain. After trips to the chiropractor and plenty of rest, the pain worsened. With further investigation, they found that she has fractured vertebrae in her lower back caused by breast cancer that has metastasized into her bones. She went through a year’s worth of chemotherapy to be considered in remission in 2012. Later that same year, she was rushed to the hospital after a fall and claims of severe headaches. It was cancer again, yet this time in had metastasized into the brain. She went through 2 years of chemotherapy and radiation after which she was told she was in remission again. With this news,
she returned back to work as a teller at Heritage/ Nixon State Bank where she had worked for many years, even throughout her battle with cancer.
In February 2015, our mother began suffering from severe headaches again. Our worst fears confirmed, she had cancerous tumors in her brain and all bony parts of her body. She endured 7 months of a clinical trial chemotherapy which took a toll on her health. After multiple rounds of cancer, her body couldn’t handle the potent chemo anymore, and was put on hospice in late October. Between the frequent hospital visits and costly cancer treatments, she and her family struggle with her expenses. As her health continues to rapidly decline, we pray for a miracle but must still prepare for the worst.
We would like to provide some peace for her from the staggering bills and ultimately a place of solace. We ask for your help. Any little bit counts, and any donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time!
Again, we would like to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you.
