Give a Gift, Give a Smile

Donation protected

My name is Karenna Obilade, and I am 15 years old. I had a condition called Chiari Malformation, which is a herniated cerebellum. After stopping my life for 6 months, living with a lot of pain, multiple trips to the emergency room, and being admitted to the hospital several times, I am happy to say that the Chiari decompression surgery relieved me of my pain and symptoms and I am back to the regular life of a 15-year-old.

Being in the hospital is very hard and I know that personally, after spending so much time at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital myself. The U of M Masonic Children's Hospital is a great children's hospital, and my goal is to make it even better for the children who have to stay there.
Knowing how hard it is in the hospital, I decided to start "Give a Gift, Give a Smile" because I wanted to bring happiness to the other children who have to stay in the hospital. Give a Gift, Give a Smile is all about giving back to the hospital that took amazing care of me when I needed it most.
Every dollar donated will go toward creating a gift bag. Each child admitted to the hospital will receive a hand-made fleece tie blanket and a gift bag with a high-quality water bottle or teddy bear, depending on the child's age, along with other assorted gifts. My goal is to raise at least $1,000 to create as many bags as possible.
Receiving gifts in the hospital cheered me up so much, and I'm sure the other children will feel the same way. Please help me make children in the hospital smile, one gift at a time!
