CHICAGO, IL (July. 10, 2018) – All roads are leading to Greensboro, North Carolina as thirteen southside youth ages 8-16 are now one step closer to becoming National USA Track and Field Junior Olympians.

Members of Woodlawn-based Saints Track Club dominated in Muncie, Indiana this past weekend at the Regional USATF Outdoor Championships, beating out their competitors in shot put, long jump, javelin, 80 meter hurdles, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m races

***The event, scheduled for July 23 - 29 at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, North Carolina, marks the 52nd year of the competition with youth participating from all around the country.  The southside however will be represented very well with the following qualifiers:

“With so much negative news about our youth and the south side, we’re thrilled to be the example of a program that keeps kids engaged in activities that build character, teaches them responsibility and creates a strong work ethic. It has been an exciting outdoor season for the club watching these kids train tirelessly four days a week, 2 hours each day, in Jackson Park. Everyone has evolved and improved upon their past efforts with many setting personal records on the state and regional levels” says Heraldo Morrison, head coach and founder of the track club.

8 year old Logan Ramsey, the newest member of the club, joined in April of this year and in three short months worked hard to bring home three gold medals in all her races. “It has been so much fun and I love running and I cannot wait to run again
