On Friday 19th of October on a Ryanair flight back from Barcelona, Mrs Delsie Gayle faced racial abuse from a fellow passenger:  https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/elderly-woman-in-ryanair-racial-abuse-video-still-hasnt-heard-from-the-airline_us_5bcddfd2e4b0a8f17eeed67c

Mrs Delsie Gayle who is 77 years old who was born in Jamaica came to Britain as part of the Windrush Generation who was invited to rebuild after WW2. She worked for over 25 years as care assistant for local authority nursing home. Her contribution like many others working for the NHS and other jobs and professions made a difference to our country. Thus her treatment is a slap in the face which was made worse by Ryanair who have refused to condone or take any action against passenger. The airline company have not had the courtesy or respect to apologise make or compensation regarding the hurt and emotional trauma that Mrs Gayle is facing.

Sadly this is another example of every day racism as well as an extension of the hostile environment. This is the treatment and trauma that many of the victims of the Windrush Scandal have experienced either a lack of humanity and respect from  the Home Office.

Please support this campaign so we can raise money so Carol her daughter can take Mrs Gayle to Florida for a well-earned holiday so she can recover from this treatment and her rebuild her life after the death of her husband over 12 months ago. No elder irrespective of race, faith or ethnicity should experience what Mrs Gayle had to endure on the Ryanair flight.

Please make a donation of any size to this worthy cause.

Update: Great news Virgin Atlantic have offered to pay for the flight to Florida for Mrs Gayle and her daughter Carol. This leaves our gofundme campaign to raise money for accommodation and spending money. Mrs Gayle's well deserved holiday to recover from the traumatic ordeal on the Ryanair is now insight. Ryanair have not approached the family and with the plans of John Cryer, Mrs Gayle's local MP introducing an Early Day Motion in Parliament on Monday this will add more pressure for Ryanair to apologise and make necessary compensation. Please make a donation of any size so we can secure the holiday so that Mrs Gayle can rebuild her life especially as she approaches the first anniversary of the death of her husband in November.

Mrs Gayle and her daughter Carol are now closing the page but would like to thank each and everyone for their contributions.

Carol says: "You don’t know how much this means to be able to give mummy a well earned break after what she went through. Thank you again to each and every one. Thank you, Carol."
