Give a little love for a lift!
Why donate? Because accessibility looks good on everyone.
Our goal is to install a platform stairlift up our flight of 30 stairs, making our community hub for social impact inclusive for folks of all abilities. That includes people with mobility issues, parents with strollers, and everyone in between. The price tag on a platform lift is a whopping $25,000, but we think we can do it! We bee-lieve in the power of this community!
If our goal is not reached by the end of March (we hope it will be!), donations will remain in a designated stairlift fund and we will continue to fundraise until we can make our space accessible to everyone.
*Rewards to be issued during the first week of April!*
Thanks for the question, Saul! We are excited to reach the goal and, we hope, to receive matching grant funding to make the lift a reality. In the unfortunate event that we are not successful in raising enough funds to install the lift immediately, we plan to keep the money set aside for future renewed efforts at fundraising for a lift (e.g. in future grant cycles). In the highly unlikely case that circumstances change within that time and we are no longer able to pursue the lift, funds would go towards other accessibility initiatives at HiVE (with input from our members and the guidance of our board).
I'm optimistic that we'll reach the $25K goal but curious what happens to the funds if the goal isn't met?
