Have you ever wondered why there aren’t more women leaders? Why more girls aren't pursing STEM careers? Why more girls aren't becoming business owners, CEOs or holding government official positions?
Girls Rule Foundation knows a few reasons why....
1. Arizona has the highest dropout rate in the nation.
2. Teen pregnancy rates result in approximately 6660 live births and 1200 abortions per year in AZ.
3. 60% of teen girls who have a child do not graduate from high school.
4. Research shows that 62% of all teen girls feel insecure or not sure of themselves.
5. 90% of eating disorders are found in teen girls.
6. 30% of college students drop out in year 1.
These are alarming statistics, but they are preventable. We know the enormous pressures and constant distractions that all girls have today, but we want girls to know their highest potential. That is why we are raising crucial funds today for our Wings to Fly summer camp.
Jessica, a Girls Rule 2016 camper, vows to never be a statistic. In 2016, Jessica attended Girl’s Rule Wings to Fly Summer Camp. She entered camp unsure of what to expect and curious of how this week at camp would be "life-changing". Throughout the week, Jessica and the girls not only enjoyed swimming and horseback riding but learned the value of self-care, self-confidence, our 12 leadership principles, the importance and fun of STEM skills, entrepreneur skills, and how to work on a team. Through the lessons, the girls started their own bracelet business electing Jessica as their CEO. Although she was only 15, she took on the role with confidence and led the girls to success. 
Today, Girl’s Rule Foundation's goal is to raise $15,000 through our 24 hour #girlschangetheworld campaign on March 8th, The National Day of the Woman. These crucial funds are what make this “life-changing”, week-long adventure to Northern Arizona at The Orme Ranch available this year for 25 determined young women from around the country. Your donation today is an investment in our girls; an investment in our future doctors, future artists, future mothers, future entrepreneurs, and future world leaders.
"Camp gave me friends I can rely on and it taught me to embrace who I am and to help others embrace who they are," says Jessica. Since camp, Jessica has taken on multiple leadership positions in her school and is graduating a year early to start her education at ASU. Wings to fly summer camp harnesses the ambition and the dreams of young girls and instills in them the confidence and the power to not only dream bigger, but to make those dreams a reality.
Since we are a 501c3, all donations are tax deductible. Please consider a donation of $25 or more to support our camp. All money raised ABOVE $15,000 will go to our other 4 programs to help us reach our goal of serving 12,000 girls this year. The 2017 Girls Rule Foundation's fundraising goal is $325,000.
