Who are we and why did we start this campaign?
A group of 3 young professionals located in Brussels that have been moved by the on-going work in Sierra Leone to address the problem of "street children".
The Ebola outbreak in 2014-2015 had profound consequences in Sierra Leone. The children who suffered the most were the survivors who lost their fathers and mothers. Girls are the most vulnerable group: many of whom are between the ages of 9 to 17 and have been trapped to work as prostitutes in the streets of Freetown. Many of them are deceived: they are offered work as maids or waitresses and end up as sex workers.
Don Bosco Fambul, located in the country’s capital city of Freetown, has been fighting against the violence and abuses suffered by Sierra Leone's girls in situations of child prostitution, guaranteeing respect and fulfillment of their fundamental rights. They provide them food, clothing, crisis intervention services, shelter, educational opportunities, long-term counseling and family reunification.
With this purpose, Hope Shelter has been built and, it welcomes minors who are victims of this terrible situation. The organization accompanies all these kids, providing them sanitary assistance and the opportunity of studying, guaranteeing all their rights and to help them regain their freedom. Since then, more than 3,000 children have been saved from living on the streets.

What are we raising funds for?
The Hope Shelter for abused minors in Sierra Leone.
How will be the funds used?
Funds are requested to cover 3 months of expenses for food, medical check-ups and school materials for 35 minors being helped at the reinsertion center for street children Don Bosco Fambul.
We are targeting 2,000 euros, however, if we double our target, we will be able to cover 6 months of expenses.

On top of your contribution, we are fundraising by organizing a "Hoops for Hope" Basketball tournament in Brussels. Updates on this tournament will be shared via this site so, stay tuned!
