Girl Scout Adero Help in Costa Rica

For those who may not know, my name is Adero Brooks and I am in the 11th grade at From the Heart Christian School.  Over the years I have participated in many different summer programs that have added an immeasurable value to my life and experiences.  This year, I’m doing it again.  I have been involved with Girl Scouts of America since I was 4 years old and have loved every minute of it.  As a Girl Scout, the organization offers us many opportunities to do lots of fun and exciting things to add to our scouting experience.  They have one specific program call Girl Scouts Destinations Outward Bound.  This program allows the girls to pick from a number of different countries and travel there for community service missions.  I have the great privilege of being accepted into this program.  And guess what … I’M GOING TO COSTA RICA & PANAMA!!!  I am super excited and a little nervous too, but it is sure to be a great time.  It is a service challenge in both Costa Rica and Panama, so I’m not just going on vacation. We will be working with the community, doing sea turtle conservation, white water rafting, and lots and lots of hiking.  While there, I get to hone my Spanish skills. It is sure to be a trip to remember… But only with your help.  I can’t go on this amazing adventure without the love and support of family and friends like you.  Help me (help my parents) to reach this next milestone.  I won’t waste it, I guarantee.

The outward bound session is from June 17th - July 1st (7 - 8 days of Community Service & 4 - 5 days of Sea Turtle Conservation work).  However, ALL monies are due 30 days in advance of the start and air travel arrangements must be scheduled as soon as possible.
