In rural Uganda, 13% of all children are orphans. Their parents died of AIDS, civil war, disease, or accidents.

We're building a Girls Orphanage - for 24 girls - in the tiny village of Buhanga (pop. 1,000) - it is high in the Ruwenzori Mountains and can only be accessed by trail.

Orphans are often denied education because no one pays their tuition. 70% are forced into crime; 37% get AIDS, 70% of girl orphans become prostitutes.
Education is the way out.
Children in our Buhanga Girls Humanist Orphanage will be allowed to attend the adjacent Mother Girls Humanist School.

This campaign was launched by Brighter Brains Institute (BBI) - a USA non-profit that's set up 17 humanist / atheist schools, clinics, and orphanages in Uganda.

Boarders at Buhanga Girls Humanist Orphanage will be fed with funds from a Chicken Farm (provided by a previous project) and they will receive free medical care from a BBI clinic.
