This an exciting performance event to showcase talented organizations on campus to help raise money for a program that mentors at risk and underprivileged girls in Guatemala. This event will take place on November 29th from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm in the U.S. Bank Conference Theater in the Ohio Union. We intend this to be a night of entertainment by a collective of some of the most talented student organizations that The Ohio State University has to offer!
All admission funds raised during this event will go to a Guatemala-based organization called Champions in Action. This organization attempts to break the cycle of poverty and violence in Guatemala through soccer program and by establishing long-term mentoring relationship that will set the youth on a better path with a brighter future. We are donating the profits from admission to this organization through a monthly sponsorship of two teams. The funds provided through the sponsorship are used to help pay for the teams’ league expenses (field rental, referee and snacks), mentor school, and provide discretionary funds to the mentors that used to assist the individual girls on a need basis. Most importantly this sponsorship contributes to the creation of a safe environment that fosters growth and empowerment of young girls in Guatemala!
