Gia’s hospitalization bills
You never think it’ll happen to you until it does.. so here I am, as awkward and embarrassing as this feels I need some help.
Gia was forced to have an emergency surgery Saturday morning after a sudden and complicated gastric torsion. (the cause is unknown but the vets say it happens with bigger breeds often.) usually, during gastric torsion, the animals stomach is turned 120-180 degrees... Gia’s stomach turned on itself 360 degrees, so twice over.
luckily I rushed her to the emerg in time, but her surgery was very complex and they had to remove her spleen. after her surgery, the vets gave her 20% chance of survival and 12h tolive but they don’t know my gia.
we are now at a little over 48h and gia is stable, her vitals are clear and stable, she is starting to drink and eat (slowly) again but she must remain in the ICU until Thursday. She is on 2 different IV’s, 6 different antibiotics and has a feeding tube. She’s had two plasma transfusions and is on 3 antacids.
as you can imagine... emergency vet care is crazy expensive, especially in cases as complicated as hers but my dog is my everything and I won’t give up on her.
please help gia in her fight to full recovery and help her continue the care she needs so I can take her home. ❤️
surgery 6,000$
