Gianna McLaren's F4 Testing

Gianna McLaren is working towards her dream of having a successful career in formula car racing. Gianna's background is not that of a normal race car driver. Most professional drivers come from families with a racing and/or wealthy background. Gianna's family was never into racing and so her obsession with it came much later in life. In fact when she was a small child, she wanted to grow up and be a scientist. This may not have happened in the traditional sense of the term, but what is more scientific than using one's life to explore and experiment with the world we live in, pushing the limits of what one thinks is truly possible, and thus discovering what human potential really means?
In the summer of 2016, after having taken a class at Sonoma Raceway in an F3 car through Simraceway Performance Driving Center, she dropped her career working for the US Forest Service as a forest ranger which had taken her on many amazing adventures all around the United States. When she first came to Sonoma, her ultimate dream was to become not only the first female Formula 1 driver on the grid in over 40 years, but rather to become the first ever to win. She wants to change the image of female drivers within the male-dominated world of motorsport and be an empowering inspiration for young girls and women to follow their passions while helping to make the world a better place.
However, Gianna also has been looking at the bigger picture and believes that Formula E is the future and will likely take over Formula 1 as the pinnacle of motorsport in the coming years. What better way to make a great impact on society than participating in such a pioneering series that is working to advance and promote the technology of electric vehicles to push racing and transportation in general towards a more sustainable future?
Gianna has now acquired her SCCA Full Competition Racing License and is now ready to take the first real step in her formula racing career: testing an F4 car that she would hopefully be racing in the debut season of the Formula Pro USA Western Championships in 2018.
The funds acquired through this GoFundMe campaign would cover the cost of a day of testing with World Speed Motorsports out at Thunderhill Raceway. These costs include tires, fuel, track fees, a mechanic, an engineer/coach, and transportation of the car and supporting crew, along with a damage deposit just in case.
Gianna's dream of being a successful formula car racer might be a crazy one of extreme ambition... But as in the words of Steve Jobs, "The ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do."
