Gia Grace Pirrone's Story
Gia Grace also know as GG & Baby G was born on the 29th August 2017 to her most incredible and inspiring parents Bree and John. Their first baby and conceived via IVF.
Gia is a serious superstar, the most toughest, bravest and courageous little girl who has touched so many people.
At 9 weeks old, doctors advised Gia had multiple congenital hearts issues and her heart was in failure. She underwent emergency open heart surgery. Afterwards recovering in ICU she surprised her parents, family, friends, surgeons, doctors and nurses the amazing progress she had made and how much will and determination she had in her.
Gia was kicking some serious goals and was finally allowed to go home after 3 weeks being closely monitored in hospital.
Gia was home for only a couple of days before another trip back to hospital as she had gone back into heart failure. The most devastating news was then told to her parents that unfortunately there was no further surgery or treatment that could save her life. That Gia's heart conditions are so rare and her chances are literally 1 in a million for this to occur.
We don't know how long Gia has left with us, it is unsure, either days, weeks or if lucky months. Gia is now home surrounded with enormous love and making as many memories possible with her family.
We have started this fundraising page to help Gia, Bree and John. For them to decide what is best and how they want to use the donations now or down the track with medical needs and other requirements. There will also be a donation to the Lady Cilento Children's Hosptial and Heartkids to help with research. We know so may people have reached out wanting to help and feel helpless at the same time so thought what better way then to do this.
Bree and John are so extremely thankful for every second, minute, hour and day they get to spend with her. She has taught them more then they could ever imagine.
We all just love her so much and will never lose hope.
