 UNION, WV
Allow us to introduce FLL Team #7507 – The Boa Constructors, from Union, WV.  The Boa Constructors are a 4-H robotics team that participates in the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Program.  FLL is a robotics program designed by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), to inspire middle school students’ interest in science and technology.

On December 14th, 2015, the Boa Constructors won the WV State Championship Tournament at Fairmont State University.  With their state championship title, Sarah McClure, Riley Sparks, Ian Jackson, Cade McMunigal, Bryce Sabol, Lane Skinner, Seana Sabol, Owen Jackson and Luke Jackson earned the right to represent West Virginia at the FIRST World Championships in the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri this coming April. They are one of only 108 teams invited to represent over 29,000 teams that participated worldwide this year.

Our 4-H club will be bearing the cost of the trip for these middle schoolers and their coaches.  Our estimates for full funding of this week of competition in Missouri is $15,000 which includes van or bus transportation to and from St. Louis, five nights of lodging in St. Louis, the tournament registration fee, team uniform t-shirts, and a small daily stipend for the kids for meals during the week.

It is our hope that you will see this great opportunity for our Monroe County 4-Hers to represent our great state and be inclined to support them financially.  As you consider your level of sponsorship, keep in mind this is a World Trip for State Champions.  Help us send them on an experience of a lifetime!

All levels of support are greatly appreciated! Your tax deductible donations can be made through this site.  Local donors can also make donations to the  “Nick-O-Time 4-H Club” at the Bank of Monroe.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and support.

Our Boa Constructors took their show on the road last night, thanks to an invitation from S.J. Neathawk's Lumber. They were the guest speakers for the January meeting of the Greater Greenbrier Valley Homebuilders Association meeting, held at the Greenbrier Valley Airport in Lewisburg. They presented both thier Core Values and Project, as well as their robot design and robot runs. Needless to say, our kids knocked their socks off!

Thanks to the GGVHBA for the opportunity to share FLL and for all the "love" that was shown to our team. We are truly grateful for your support!!

We are humbled and speechless as to the amount of support we have received from our community and beyond! To all of those who have contributed, thank you from the bottoms of our MoCo hearts.

We are almost at the halfway mark to our goal and have other fundraisers planned. We will be hosting a soup supper later this month, have plans for a gun drawing, and a silent auction. We will share details on these fundraisers and more on our Facebook page ( www.facebook.com/monroebotics)

Finally, please continue to share this page - every donation gets us that much closer to St. Louis!!

I began my support for 4-H becoming a member in 1963. I have always said that 4-H is one of the greatest experiences a child can have. The STEM program is just one more example of inspiring kids to succeed.
