Vet Internship Program

Ayuda has an unexpected opportunity which came our way at the end of last week. A veterinary student got in touch to see if she can complete the last 3 months of her required scholastic internship with us.
After an extensive interview this morning, I am convinced that Paola Pacheco will be an asset to our work in San Pedro La Laguna. To bring her onboard, Ayuda needs to raise $1800 on or before 10 November. This is a special program and needs to be funded on its own. Half of the funds are to pay Paola’s stipend; the other half is to ensure that Ayuda has adequate funds for the additional medications and supplies which will be required for Paola to work.
The University San Carlos requires students who have completed their academic studies to work under a licensed, Guatemalan veterinarian for a term of 6 months before graduation. Our candidate has completed 3 months with another veterinarian. She is very anxious to work with Ayuda and Dr. Estrada to learn more about our program, methods, and local domestic animal issues.
