Getting Barbara Back to Health

Donation protected

Our family is creating this page for our mother and wife Barbara Kudlik. This beautiful picture was taken just 5 short months ago. As you can notice from the photos, she is now very ill and we are doing everything we can to make improvements to her current situation. Barbara is 64 years young and has one of the biggest hearts- we know so many people that love her and have expressed desire to help. She’s spent her life wanting to serve others and taking pride in her role as a compassionate, kind and nurturing mother of 4 kids. Our Mom is that friend, sister, wife, mother, and daughter that would prefer to listen to your story versus telling her own. She genuinely cares about people. We feel it’s our time to give back and care for her the way she has for all of us.

My mom has suffered from chronic UTI’s most of her life. She was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis back in November 2018. After multiple rounds of antibiotics to clear the infection, treatment failed and she was told that her body had developed immunity to 5 of the 7 antibiotics prescribed for UTI’s. As of February 2019, her health started to decline rapidly. Teams of doctors were in pursuit of figuring out what was happening to her body. Her initial symptoms were vertigo, constant sharp pelvic pain, frequent urination, constipation, shooting nerve pain, food intolerance, loss of appetite, atrophy, muscle weakness, inability to walk, poor balance, chronic fatigue, digestive issues, bladder infection, and more. In the past two months, she was admitted to the hospital 3 times, every test imaginable was run yet the doctors weren’t 100% sure of a diagnosis. More symptoms (many neurological) started to appear such as dementia, tremors, involuntary muscle spasms, slurred speech, anxiety, face and muscle tension, and difficulty breathing. The latest diagnosis that the Dr’s have come up with is one that our family does not want to accept due to the severity and rareness. This sudden onset of symptoms has prevented my mom from being able to care for herself. She needs around the clock care with hydration, eating, bathing, bathroom breaks, daily hygiene, daily supplementation and physical therapy to restore her ability to walk.

We have decided that as mentioned above, we need to hire home health care to assist with my mom with daily functions. Unfortunately, the insurance plan that she has does not cover any type of home healthcare.  Areas where we need financial help beyond hiring a caretaker include organic whole foods, purified water, IV administration of fluids, supplementation of vitamins and minerals, and any other materials that will be helpful in getting her back to health. This is very difficult for us to ask for financial assistance, but we know our Mother is very loved and many people have asked how they can help. Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated and will go towards saving her life.
