Jan's Opportunity for an Apartment

Jan has been homeless for ten months. I met her nine months ago outside my office building on Union in Lakewood and have been helping her since then. She has an opportunity to rent a low-income studio apartment through Metro West Housing Solutions. Another of her friends and I paid her deposit but she needs help with the first month rent of $450. 

She will be able to make the rent payments once she is there but because of some health issues, she had to use her monthly income for a hotel the past week. It's hard to stay off your feet when you are homeless because you have to stay on the move. 

Any extra money donated will be used to stock her pantry and buy household items and bus passes.
