My name is Jamie Friend. I am a life long Democrat and a native to South Florida. I have been elected to represent my district, Florida CD23, as a Pledged Delegate to Bernie Sanders at the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, July 25th-28th. Money raised here will cover the expenses associated with attending the convention as well as the production and transportation of "The Peoples Puzzle" , exhibiting in Philadelphia during the convention. Individual costs for delgates are estimated between $3000-$8000 depending on means of travel and lodging. I plan to drive myself, my son and the puzzle to Philly and will be staying with family in the area. The cost of puzzle production is approximately$300, needed immediately, in order to ensure 2-4 weeks for design, construction, finishing and packing.
Bernie Sanders is the first person I ever truly identified as 'My Hero.' That was back in 2010. From the minute Bernie announced his candidacy I have been contributing to his campaign. I have hosted over 10 'Official' events, phone banked, canvassed, rallied and organized. My most notable & unique contribution has been a series of Interactive Art Experiences, designed to engage the public in a positive political experience while creating a cerebral, tactile and visual bond to Bernie Sanders and the Political Revolution.
When asked what I want from all the hard work I have put in over this past year, without hesitation, my response is always the same......."To get Bernie elected and to BE AT THE NATIONAL CONVENTION, standing for my hero and the next President of the United States.
This journey has been so very personal and rewarding. I am grateful to have been elected by my community, friends and family. I appreciate any contributions you can make to ensure my safe and productive trip to Philadelphia. This is a Once In A Life Time moment in history. Your help is a dream come true. I promise to represent with integrity and altruism.
