Elaine Villaver Get My CURE On!

Hello, my name is Andrea "Nikki" Lim and I’m sharing this story about my dear friend Elaine who needs all our love and support.

Elaine Villaver is vivacious, charming, beautiful and wicked smar.  She is one of the kindest, most generous, big-hearted people you will ever meet.  To know her is to instantly fall in love with her, especially her contagious laugh and gorgeous smile.  She loves being with her family and friends and, super passionate about living life to the fullest.  Now she is in for the fight of her life and wants to kick cancer’s ass!!!

On March 21, 2017 Elaine's world changed in an instant.  She went in for a routine yearly mammogram and received a call the same day that she would need to come back in for a second screening, coupled with an ultra sound to remove any doubt of what could be suspicious calcifications seen on the original screening.  Nine days later, after a day of painful, intensive, invasive probing, Elaine was told the mass looked questionable and would need a biopsy.

Going into the secondary screening she had a bad feeling and seeing the image from the ultrasound, she just knew she would be in for a life changing challenge. Another biopsy and mammogram were performed on April 3rd (so more painful procedures and emotional distress).  A week later, on April 10th Elaine received the diagnosis of invasive ductal carcinoma - Breast cancer.  WTH!

Managing a whirlwind of emotions and suddenly feeling very homesick since moving away from her hometown in Southern CA while living in New York City, she pulled herself together, heard two (2) separate opinions from surgeons of what course of actions should be taken regarding this tumor and had a very difficult decision to make.

After feeling like a human science project having done more tests - MRI, genetic testing, additional MRI biopsy on her other breast for another suspicious lump (which thankfully turned out to be benign), 2 more mammograms - Elaine received best possible news that she could opt for the least invasive surgery.

Her surgery was performed on May 19th and she has been recovering as well as can be expected but the journey is far from over.  Elaine has actively done extensive research to find cancer treatment options to make sure only the best choices are explored and now it is time for her to receive post cancer treatment.

This diagnosis of breast cancer is one of the biggest challenges Elaine has had to deal with in her life.   Besides handling the emotions of her situation and managing her cancer care research, she is now faced with a financial burden to receive the treatments she feels is best.

Let's help Elaine get her CURE on!  Please consider helping Elaine out right now; she is starting her treatments as of June 29th.  She wants to fight not to just survive but to contine to live the full, energetic life she has lived thus far!   If you know her, you know she is a lively, outgoing, friendly woman who would be willing to help anyone in need.  This time it is Elaine who needs our help and support to kick cancer's ass!!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your time to read her story and journey with breast cancer.

All my best,
Andrea
